Mai Lamore’s Rose Shoes

It’s time to remove the dust from the money piling in your bank account and tie some art work to your feet. Pinch yourself as this is possible. The pricey artistic cutting-edge street wear demands a whooping sum of $27,945.

Crafted by Mai Lamore, don’t degrade them by tagging them as mere shoes as they are no less than a work of art. The 18 karat gold heels are quite sensuous and ufffff when it is complemented with the hand dyed silk petals.

Well, considering the price tag and beauty attached to it, I would love to buy this pair and won’t dare to carry it. It would be my luxurious installed masterpiece. If this precious gold heel gets success in winning your heart then try saving some bucks right away. Of course, it is far cheaper than the world’s most expensive sandals.

Bottega Veneta Intrecciato Leather Shopper Handbag

If you are looking for supple, you go to BV. I am on the hunt for a divine summer bag to be worn often and to make a statement. I have decided it will be a Bottega Veneta handbag, it is time I add another to my list. All of my attention is given to the simple putty leather that is delicately woven together and accented with gold hardware on the Bottega Veneta Intrecciato Leather Shopper Handbag.

From blush pinks, ivory, white, and a huge array of colors, there is so much to offer. I love this shopper because of the adjustable straps (looks as if it may be long enough to wear cross body) and the size, W16.5, H10, D6. There is also a small padlock fastening and a woven tab closure. My mom doesn’t know it yet, but she will be head over heels for this bag and we will just refrain from showing my practical mother the price tag $ 2650 Via Net A Porter.

All bags are not the same I thought to myself. I vowed to change their views on handbags, one designer bag at a time. I started small and worked my way up. Three years ago I stepped foot into Bottega Veneta Munich, and it was over.

Burberry Prorsum

Essentially it was a collection of short, highly worked chiffon, tulle, and organdy dresses, under puffy peplumed jackets and an array of lightweight coats that ran from rockin' to super-rich. The house trench has segued into an "armadillo" hourglass silhouette with a built-up shoulder line of triple-layered storm flaps and pocket details to emphasize the hips. A butter-soft ivory leather coat came aerated with perforations, and a papery white coat was edged with thick crunchy bands of granulated beads.

Somewhere along the way, the collection picked up a passing sense of the Tom Ford years at Gucci (where Bailey, remember, cut his teeth as a designer), or maybe of the high Versace times (a bright turquoise neoprene coat came with black crisscross lacing to nip the waist; a gunmetal coat was laden with a tracery of studs).

"She's a luxury warrior. It's a bit more rock," said Christopher Bailey, laughing. "I've been listening to a lot of Deep Purple and Iron Maiden." Well, you could feel the vibe. This was the sexiest version of Burberry yet, all ruched chiffon, leather belts studded with military medallions, and stacks of chain bracelets—an accurate riff on nineties body-con dressing and the stirrings of the heavy-metal revival that's coming out of London. In Bailey's hands, though, it scrubbed up remarkably. Never a down-and-dirty club kid, the designer knows how to pick his way through a theme at Burberry and play it to an international audience like a pro.

The point, though, is how easily it all separates out into pieces: pretty-edgy for those who like it that way, pretty-normal for others, with a slew of strong accessories as optional extras. That's Christopher Bailey's skill, and the essence of Burberry's ongoing success.

Sexy Chocolate

In his roundabout way, Alessandro Dell'Acqua always manages to express something pertinent about the current mood. But it certainly wasn't there at the beginning of his collection, when the queasy combination of heavy felted camel-colored corsetry mixed with orange poufy silk (beige with tangerine, help!) had his late-night audience fighting back the urge to charge for the door. Stoicism was eventually rewarded, though.

In the show's final passages, the things Dell'Acqua did with black moiré taffeta (a strict high-necked, long-sleeved tailored dress), fur-paneled coats (with perverse chokerlike satin standup collars peeking from beneath), and sheer/opaque/embroidered black dresses made an intriguing counterpart to Miuccia Prada's line of thought about femmes fatales. Quite why there should be a tide of sinister eroticism seeping into things this season is yet to be diagnosed. But it's out there, and Dell'Acqua has sensed it rising.

Carlos Falchi Boat Hobo

The shoulder strap is braided, adding another dimension. I am a little let down by the print nylon lining, only as I crave something more luxurious when opening this bag. The interior means business, with a key clip, two zip pockets, two open pockets, and two pen pockets. Buy through Saks for $2450.

Carlos Falchi has always been a designer that I find very intriguing. While I find the man behind the designs interesting, the designs are able to speak for themselves. While he also uses leathers, Falchi employs the use of exotics to brand his name, showing us eye catching bags in python, ostrich and crocodile. But now I am drawn in by the demure Carlos Falchi Boat Hobo, whose sleek and slouchy design I find appealing. The shape is a typical hobo, which leaves the black python skin to do all the work.

HAUTE TOPIC

The couture trade is alive and well, at least if you're: a.) An east Texas resident with a full dance card, b.) The wife of a dot com billionaire with problematic proportions, or c.) A visitor to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, where the exhibit “Yves Saint Laurent,” opening today, catalogues 40 years of creation from one of the most skilled couturiers of the last century.

The display is broken down into four distinct categories that help trace the evolution of Saint Laurent's work through 145 fully accessorized looks, as well as a wealth of drawings, videos, and photographs.

“Stroke of a Pencil” focuses on his sketches; “The YSL Revolution” dissects the influence menswear had on his designs; “The New Palette” explores his innovative use of color; and “Lyrical Sources” reveals some of his greatest influences, from Marcel Proust to Jean Cocteau. The exhibit is also an education in Saint Laurent, the progressive: Not only did he help shatter traditional gender roles, but he was the first designer to use a black model in one of his shows.

Dolce & Gabbana Miss Class Tote

The leather is a khaki green color and there is contrast topstitching. The double top handles are one way you can carry this bag along with the buckle shoulder strap. The inside is lined with canvas and dimensions are 16” W x 14”H x 7”D. Overall this bag is just fine.

Compared to the Jimmy Choo Riki it is nothing special, as I prefer the Riki over this bag (buy through Saks for $1985) I see a major problem though. While it is nothing to write home about, the price is something to make you gasp! The going range lately has been more around $1200, and this bag nearly doubles that. Pre-order at Saks for $ 2250.

There is something so very reminiscent about this handbag. Could it be that is closely resembles the Jimmi Choo Riki? Ah, yes, that is precisely it. While the design idea is not entirely new, the Dolce & Gabbana Miss Class Tote sports a rugged feel with a somewhat feminine touch, the contrast stitching that resembles a bow on the front.

But the overall feel is that of a street chic. There is nothing super girly about the bag, but it is practical and will match with most things easily. This bag has a tomboy feel.
