Circle Cubic Zirconia Pendant

There is no better way to give a gift that expresses your love or gratitude to another person than to present them with a dazzling circle cubic zirconia pendant. Instead of paying hundreds or even thousands of dollars for a diamond pendant, many shoppers are turning toward cubic zirconia and sterling silver with rhodium plating (which all together replaces the look of diamond in platinum metal setting).

With this said, the circle cubic zirconia pendant has been a very popular design for shoppers because it possesses a deeper meaning than meets the eye. You see, a complete circle often symbolizes love or eternity there is no beginning and no end. The same is said about real love; it is complete, has no definite beginning and no end. A circle cubic zirconia pendant can have many meanings to different people.

Perhaps a circle inspires a feeling that life has come full circle, or that everything is connected in some way or another. Whatever your reason for wearing it, the many sizes of the circle cubic zirconia pendant remain popular and versatile. This means you can wear it with most outfits (whatever the style or color), and for most occasions out with friends, at parties, or even at the office.

Even though it is a very fashionable trend, this simple design works for everyone teens, young adults and women of all ages. Much like the design itself, there seems to be no visible end to the popularity of the circle cubic zirconia pendant. This is one of the most dazzling and timeless looks you will want to own for a lifetime.

Its graceful design will do nothing less than to scintillate loveliness while hanging from your neck, showing off its dramatic and dazzling diamond brilliance. Although current trends seem to center around the elegance and femininity of the circle cubic zirconia pendant, the symbolic meaning of the circle combined with its simple, sleek appeal will no doubt make this jewelry item a timeless treasure you can wear your whole lifetime.

The Versatility of Turquoise Jewelry Makes it Ideal For Fashion

This very attractive semi precious stone is actually mined in many countries around the world with the clear blue turquoise from Persia believed to be among those of the highest quality and value. Turquoise produced from India's mines is colored green while those from China come in different hues. Those mined in the southwestern part of the U.S. also come in varying colors and qualities. In the U.S., this semi precious stone has been a major part of the Native American culture that spanned thousands of years.

    Origin of color
There are reasons behind the turquoise's original blue and green color. They point to how the stone was formed on rocks that contain minerals like copper and aluminum. The blue turquoise means that it was formed with the presence of copper while the green hue means that it has more aluminum. The yellow green combination, which is a rare mix, means that zinc was present during its formation.

Meanwhile, the black markings you see on the stone are actually the so called matrix or the rock in which the turquoise formed in. And note that the matrix is not always black. It can also be of different hues such as brown and yellow as the turquoise usually forms in varying types of rock. The various colors of turquoise available today in jewelry are already a result of color treatments. Chemicals are normally involved in the process to improve or change the color of the stone.

    Use in jewelry
Turquoise is popularly used in jewelry these days. Most of them, however, have already undergone some kind of treatment or enhancement. This treatment is actually what makes the turquoise jewelry more affordable to women who prefer a combination of gold, silver and precious stones.

Natural turquoise stones are very expensive because of their high quality and if jewelry designers will exclusively use only the natural ones, many women won't be able to afford them at all.

Turquoise jewelry may come in individual pieces or sets such as a necklace, earrings and a bracelet. In making a fashion statement, using the set or just your preferred piece can make a woman fashionable and appealing.

    Buying and caring tips
Turquoise jewelry can make a great gift to a young lady or woman whatever the occasion may be or even without an occasion. Make sure that you buy your turquoise from reputable stores with staff knowledgeable about the vital aspects of the stone. This stone is commonly imitated that it's sometimes hard to decipher between the genuine and the imitation so be very careful and don't be shy to ask.

Proper handling is always key to maintaining a jewelry's quality. Avoid storing your turquoise together with other gemstones or materials that might rub against the stone and cause damage. Store them away from chemicals and high heat. When cleaning, use only warm water and dry it right away using a soft cloth.

Heels Over The Years

The formal version of the high heeled shoe is believed to have come into existence during after the year 1533. However, rougher, more informal versions have been known to exist since long back. Egyptian murals dating as far back as 3500 BC show men and women wearing shoes, some of them in heels. It is believed that these heels were mostly worn for special occasions. Butchers in Egypt were also known to wear heels, so as to avoid stepping on the carcasses of animals.

Evidence has also been found to indicate that people in Ancient Greece and Rome wore heeled shoes called 'Kothorni' or 'Buskins'. These shoes would have heels made of wood, and would be worn mainly by actors. Another evidence of the wearing of high heels in the olden times comes from Ancient Rome, during the times when prostitution was considered illegal. During this period, sex workers would wear high heeled shoes for the purpose of identification.

In the Middle Ages in Europe, a product called 'Pattens' was largely used by males and females. It referred to wooden soles that could be readily attached to shoes, so as to avoid stepping on dirt when walking outdoors. 'Pattens' were believed to be the forerunner for the invention of the 'Chopines'. 'Chopines' referred to a more primitive version of the platform heels of today, invented in Turkey in the 1400's.

It was largely used all over Europe until the middle of 1600. Chopines would be up to 30 inches in height, and women would be required to use a cane or the help of a servant to enable them to walk comfortably without tripping over.

Like pattens, chopines would also be strapped to shoes, and were worn mostly by ladies. This practice of making heels as a separate component that could be easily attached to shoes continued till the 1500's.

With the passage of time, this led to the production of heeled shoes as a single piece. The popularity of the heeled shoe went up considerably in the 1500's.

Mostly, they were used by riders, as they prevented the feet from slipping out of the stirrups while riding. The heeled shoe that was originally designed for riders was about 1 to 1-1/2 inches high, and was similar in appearance to the cowboy boots or riding boots of today. In the mid 1500s, the heel became thinner and more stylish.

This change came about on account of the fashionable high heeled shoes popularized by Catherine de Medici, who married Henry, the son of King Francis I of France, in the year 1533. Catherine, who wore high heels on account of her short stature, made them more popular as 'fashion accessories' rather than as 'functional accessories'.

By the year 1580, fashionable high heeled shoes were worn largely by the affluent class of the society, which led to the coining of the term 'well heeled', meaning a person who was well to do. In the beginning of the 1700s, King Louis XIV of France used to wear heels as high as 5 inches, which would have elaborate scenes of battle on them. These heels later became popular as 'Louis heels'. During the century, heels evolved to become more thin, arched and more fashionable.

As they were believed to make feet look more attractive and desirable, laws were passed over time, banning women from wearing high heels to 'capture' a man. Women who violated this law would be declared witches and would have to face trial. In the year 1791, high heeled shoes were completely banished by Napoleon. In spite of this, high heels made a comeback in the year 1790s, courtesy Marie Antoinette with her 2 inch heels. The heels worn during this period were relatively low, just about a wedge in size.

The Ethical Fashion Show

The concept of ethical fashion is simple. It refers to fashion that incorporates positive ethical practices such as environment conservation, fair trade and fair wages, healthy and safe working conditions for labors, limited use of pesticides, use of recyclable material, ensuring no harm to flora and fauna, preservation of traditional skills, etc. The Ethical Fashion Show aims to promote the concept of ethical fashion and spread awareness about it.

This Fashion Show is an attempt to inspire people to give a thought to social and environmental factors before deciding to go for a particular fashion product. It also aims to inculcate among fashionistas a sense of sympathy for everyone and everything directly or indirectly associated with the fashionable products that they use. In other words, it attempts to convey the message, "Fashion is possible even with high ethical values."

The Ethical Fashion Show was launched in the year 2004 by Paris based designer Isabelle Quehe, which was very well accepted by fashion designers all over the globe. The event has consequently been held every year, with enthusiastic participation from designers worldwide. Continuing this tradition, the Ethical Fashion Show has been organized this year at the Carrousel du Louvre, Paris, in the year 2008.

It has been scheduled for the period from 9th to 12th October, 2008, of which the first two days have been reserved for trade shows and the next two have been slotted for the general public. In the year 2007, the event was attended by over 4500 visitors in total, 48% of which were comprised of national and international buyers, 25% of media, 22% general public and 5% other categories. It is anticipated that approximately 100 fashion designers from all over the world would attend the event this year.

The best ethical designer would be awarded by a jury, consisting of professionals from the fashion industry. Apart from ramp shows, the Ethical Fashion Show 2008 will also feature conferences and round table discussions among industry experts on the subject of ethical fashion. The exhibition this year is planned to be on the theme of "Globe trotting color". Danish fashion designer Leila Hafzi and Betty de Paris, a natural colorist, are scheduled to present their collections as a part of this event.

This would be followed by a show by Takashiro Senko, indigo master from Japan, among displays by other experts. The Brazilian brand Modafusion would be presenting a collection of colorful dresses for women produced by co-operatives from Rio. UK based designer Ada Zanditon would present her collection of ethically produced garments, accompanied by a display of designs for working women by French designer Céline Faizant.
