The Perfect Weekend Sweater

This Isabel Marant sweater is perfect for today in So Cal, it's sunny, no it's cloudy, no it's sunny again...I love it paired with the white pants and belt, so cute....I'm a Cali native and 2010 has been weather like none other, coldest summer ever, total fall heat wave, then crazy week long UNHEARD OF rainstorm then omg, it's 80 again, omg it's raining again, omg it's predicted back in the 80's next week for the first week in Nov.???  Crazy, I swear it's become a full on free for all...


P.S. I got to spend time with the lovely Brandi B. yesterday from Not Your Average Ordinary, this talented lady is a total foodie and created a blog to express this passion, Pizzelles.  She knows her stuff, she brought me some of her butternut squash soup and it was delicious, check it out!!

Amazing editorial from Elle Ukraine, such refined chic beauty with an air of mystery. The pictures themselves are incredible, that jacket is a dream (perfectly matched with the black gloves), the dress is completely divine and I wish I was wearing outfit #3 today!   It's shots and styling like this that makes me so completely fashion obsessed and tremendously grateful to be able to express it on the blog....

Carolyn Bessette Kennedy ~ Icon

I was flooded with memories of Carolyn last Thursday after I took my blond hair to another level and realized it's very her.  She was my idol back in the day, her beauty, style and essence were the best I've seen.  I remember being in total shock when she, John Kennedy Jr. and her sister Lauren died in a plane crash in 1999, it was surreal and utterly tragic.  I miss her and was enchanted by her gorgeousness all over again while working with these photos, she truly was one of a kind and I don't think anyone since has taken the entire world's breath away.....


P.S. Hmm, I see this 90's style just above the ankle skirt length back in action in the near future.

Together these pieces are so sexy I swear I wish I could wear this combo around my little beach town but that's probably not going to happen for a few reasons.  One being my 5'6 height most likely won't pull it off and two I wouldn't want to scare the locals but what I do know for sure is I will covet this glorious  jacket for months!

This incredible shot is from Vogue China, she represents the modern fashionable chinese woman well...bold, gorgeous and sleek while still retaining a unique and mysterious essence.  The layering is amazing and I love the gold accessories although personally I couldn't pull off the earrings but I'll take the sunglasses in a heartbeat.

About Halloween...

Yesterday I said I should be thinking of a cool Halloween getup instead of holiday attire but the truth is I'm not a huge costume gal (sorry).  What I would love to wear is this gorgeous frock & wild neck piece, emulate the hair, paint on a black eye mask and be some sort of ghostly fashion spirit while passing out candy to the kiddies.

P.S.  I have to share about last Sat. night.  I was invited to attend a listening of some rough cuts by Dale Williams at my friend James' Poole St. Studios in La Jolla, Ca.  Dale's a professional musician who's a guitar master, he's played with top acts around the world and is now recording a solo album with some serious deep blues (and a few other tunes).  The songs were great and it was a pretty special night, when the album drops I'll let you know.

Fabulous Jewels
