I’ve always been fascinated with this fabric but I was never sure how and where to wear it so the result was that I’ve never bought anything in velvet.
But thankfully this season fashion designers reinvented this fancy fabric morphing it into chic modern outfits. My favourite style is the cocktail dress in jewel tones like this blue one here from Boden.
From luxurious embroidered jackets and evening gowns to day dresses, skirts, trenches and even pants, velvet proved to be quite a versatile fabric. So hurry up and get your own velvet piece.
